Douglas Electric was founded in 1975 by Douglas Cryderman, running the company out of his home and from a 1,000 square-foot warehouse nearby.

For more than 50 years, Douglas Electric has been a trusted name in Southeast Michigan, delivering reliable, high-quality electrical solutions. Built on a foundation of integrity, craftsmanship, and dependable service, the company expanded its capabilities and eventually relocated to a larger Wyandotte facility as its reach grew across the region.

In 1999, Doug’s daughter, Paige Levy, began a leadership transition and officially took ownership in 2005, ensuring the business remained family-run. Today, Douglas Electric is a Certified Women-Owned Business Enterprise (WBENC) and a second-generation electrical contractor recognized for excellence across commercial, industrial, and service markets.

Under Paige’s leadership, the company has modernized—expanding its services, technology, and workforce while preserving its strong customer-first values.
